2012 Medicare Premiums and Deductibles

The long awaited numbers are here.  Medicare recently released the premium and deductible information for 2012.  Some good news and some bad news.  Here’s a summary:

Social Security monthly payments will increase by 3.6%.

The monthly Part B premium will be $99.90 for everyone.  Those currently paying $96.40 will get a $3.50 increase.  Those currently paying $115.40 will get a $15.50 decrease.

The annual Part B deductible will be $140, a decrease of $22 from last year.  Those on a Medicare Supplement Plan D, G or N are responsible for this deductible each calender year.
